This is why we love Amy Adams.
The award-winning actress hung out in a karaoke bar a few days before the Golden Globes last week and she wasn't afraid to let loose on stage. TMZ obtained video of the performance, which shows that Adams sang to a supportive and cheering crowd.
Adams chose to sing the song "Defying Gravity" from the Broadway musical "Wicked," in which the green-faced Elphaba sings to Glinda about her plan to take on the Wizard of Oz. (People in a discussion forum at BroadwayWorld.com bring it up as one of the most difficult Broadway songs to sing correctly).
Which is why we give Adams major props for trying it out on the karaoke stage. Her voice is a little raw at times, but when it comes time to belt it out, Adams does not disappoint.
WATCH:
Adams has a musical theater background and sung her own songs in the 2007 film "Enchanted," which means she can more than hold her own during karaoke.
For anyone curious about seeing the original song in its entirety, check out this video of Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, who starred in the original Broadway production.
