Drink Like A Klingon Warrior With 'Star Trek'-Inspired Beer

Any "Star Trek" fan will tell you that it’s best not to approach a drunken Klingon. But if you have to, you might as well get a little liquid courage from the new "Star Trek"-inspired beer, Klingon Warnog.

According to CNET, the beer comes from the Tin Man Brewing Company in Indiana, thanks to a partnership with Canadian marketer Federation Of Beer, which has the official “Star Trek” stamp of approval.

The warrior race's brew will have a sweet and distinctive flavor fit for only the galaxy's strongest fighters.

“Warnog's aroma is predominantly mild banana and clove produced by the German wheat yeast, supported by subtle sweet malt character from the use of Munich malt,” according to a product announcement on StarTrek.com. “The flavor draws heavily from the blending of the rye malt and traditional clove character, creating a very rich and unique flavor. The inclusion of wheat and caramel malts help to round out the mouthfeel of this beer, making this Dunkelweizen hearty enough to be called... a Klingon Warnog.”

According to The Guardian, Klingon Warnog was consumed in television series “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (1987-1994) and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” (1993-1999).

There’s no official word on when the new drink will be available to U.S. consumers, but fans are encouraged to check The Federation Of Beer for updates.

Federation previously brewed another "Star Trek"-themed beer, Vulcan Ale.
