In asserting this week that the surge has "succeeded beyond our wildest dreams," Obama was buying into the Republicans' framing on Iraq. As the Shiite-run Iraqi government is rounding up the Sunni leaders of the Awakening who were at the heart of the reduction in violence, political reconciliation -- the actual goal of the surge -- remains a mirage. McCain's amnesia platform holds that the outcome of the surge is the sum total of the Iraq scorecard -- wiping everything else clean. Forget invading over non-existent WMD, taking our eye off al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan, war profiteering and the empowering of Iran. And forget that Gen. Petraeus wants to delay planned troop cuts because he realizes that widespread violence could easily return to Iraq. Success beyond our wildest dreams? Perhaps when Sarah Palin said, "victory in Iraq is finally in sight," she was talking about a PR victory.

If the McCain-Palin campaign has disclosed details about Track Palin's company's movements to gain press about it, they will have put many American lives in danger -- not the least of which would be Track's.

McCain has unleashed a number of diversionary tactics, including his good-looking VP running mate. These diversions are designed to confuse and mislead the enemy.

Let's shift to all those words a former Bush speechwriter crafted which betrayed a fundamental contempt for Americans, our common sense and our ability to do basic math.

American evangelicals invaded Russia with missionaries, said the Orthodox aren't "real Christians," and attacked their friends. Now we expect Russia to be logical about these matters and do what is good for business.

With yesterday's cross-border airborne assault in Pakistan, it seems that Obama's position has now become official US policy.

It's very easy for CNN to report on Warner Brothers and acknowledge their common corporate parent. What will Campbell Brown do when she reports on diplomacy with Iran?

Iraq Veterans Against The War marched to deliver a letter of demands to Democratic presidential nominee Obama. The letter called for an immediate withdrawal of troops, post-deployment care for vets and an end to redeployments.

Last week a mix of water and sanitation experts gathered for World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden to mull over the world's biggest public health crisis. The problem is that not enough people paid attention.

Members of the military are speaking with their checkbooks, and reiterating just how strongly they believe we need to begin to redeploy from Iraq, and go on the offense against al Qaeda.

Any one of the embarrassing incidents and comments this week would dominate the news cycle if they came from the Obama campaign. Yet McCain barely gets a mention.

McCain's belief that the surge "won the war" contradicts the substance of the "status of force" agreement the Bush administration has been trying to ram down the Iraqi government's throat.

Sarah Palin does not strap Trig into a car seat. It is the law in Alaska.
Sarah and Todd Palin eloped and she gave birth to Track less than 8 months later.

The day Republicans announced this woman as their VP nominee I did a search online "Sarah Palin on ISSUES", except for few issues like Abortion and etc, she had NO stand on anything else!!
I checked again yesterday ........ ironically NOW they have added so many lines under each Issue, it seems Neocons are adding, deleting and updating information online to build a good resume for WOMAN from NOWHERE to sell her to ignorants in this country.
Neocons are just bunch of LIARS.

They are rounding out her resume'. Of course it would have to be filed in the fiction section of the library...but..hey... any port in a storm.
I'm wondering if she will be campaigning by herself, or will she always be "supported" by a team of ideologues.
most of their crowd does not use facts so manufacturing them is quite ok.
I wonder if the impact of Silly Wasilly is being overestimated.
A very conservative woman I know, who doesn't follow politics, told me she LOVES Sarah, was thrilled by her speech. This person has a lot in common with SP (small town, mom, religious fundamentalism). But then she said, well, you don't vote for the VP, and she isn't persuaded to vote for McCain.
i think it is funny to see the liberals wriggle in frustration.....that the republicans actually like her.....and the scandals aren't scandals. I have heard nothing bad about her that counts for anything......
McCain is 72...... then you do vote for the VP for president......
