John McCain made a mistake Tuesday evening, which as far as I'm concerned, disqualifies him from being president. It is so appalling and factually wrong that I'm actually sitting here wondering who McCain's advisers are. It's a real misunderstanding of what has happened in Iraq over the past year. If we are going to have an Iraq-centric war on terror policy, he should at least understand what he is talking about.
Mayhill Fowler, 07.16.2008
The John McCain town hall meeting is a fraud. The town halls are not about local issues. They're not conversational. They don't feature a lot of straight talk. They're sad and they're an opportunity lost.
Andy Borowitz, 07.21.2008
McCain aides said that the senator's journey to the Internet will span five days and will take him to such far-flung sites as Amazon.com, eBay and Facebook.
Bob Cesca, 07.17.2008
If you want to tell that gorilla rape joke to your spouse or parents, have at it. If Senator McCain wants to tell a joke like that, he embarrasses more than just himself.
Lionel Beehner, 07.22.2008
What would you do differently in Iraq? Say it up top and be specific. Get readers and morning commuters to spill their coffee, what I call the "shock and awe" lede. Ok, maybe a bad pun.
Daniel Burrell, 07.18.2008
If managing a presidential campaign is any indication of how these candidates will perform day one in the White House, it is McCain's campaign, not Obama's that should be worrying American voters.
Robert Klein, 07.22.2008
Rumors are flying out of the McCain camp that a surprising and seemingly counterintuitive choice for running mate is imminent: Larry Craig.
Robert Scheer, 07.16.2008
Indifference to economics does not explain the prominence of Phil Gramm in the McCain campaign during the U.S. financial crisis. Indifference to the folks losing their homes is a more plausible explanation.
Mitchell Bard, 07.21.2008
For McCain to try to argue that he is not being treated fairly by the media is downright outrageous. Nobody in the history of modern politics has been a bigger media sweetheart than John McCain.
Lester Feder, 07.19.2008
Al Hubbard, architect of the Bush-cum-McCain health plan, compares Americans' use of the health care system to shoppers who indiscriminately buy caviar while someone else foots the bill, just as Senator Phil Gramm exits as co-chair of John McCain's presidential campaign after calling America a "nation of whiners" in a "mental recession."
Keli Goff, 07.14.2008
Someone should ask McCain, whose family rescued his youngest daughter from an orphanage in Bangladesh, if she would have been better off remaining there than being raised by a loving gay couple.
Chris Kelly, 07.21.2008
McCain left Sunday's Yankees game in the middle of the sixth with the score tied. It didn't really matter to him if he saw the end of the game, since his most cherished sports memories are all imaginary, anyway.
Robert L. Borosage, 07.22.2008
This fall, Americans will discover an inconvenient truth about McCain -- he wants you to lose your employer-based health care. He thinks you aren't sufficiently conscious about the cost, and you're using too much of it.
Paul Abrams, 07.19.2008
As reported in these pages, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has endorsed Barack Obama's 16-month withdrawal timetable. The McCain campaign is effectively over.
Daniel Nichanian, 07.17.2008
The ground continues to shift to Obama in deep red territory. Montana, Nebraska and the Dakotas battleground states? Believe it. Obama is on air and on the ground, and for now he is running unopposed.
Bill Scher, 07.14.2008
If you read closely, you'll notice Bush did not explicitly claim that coastal drilling would significantly lower the price of the gas -- because it won't.

Maybe we should wait for #100 to be an all time big time gaffe by McCain. At his present rate of gaffes, I am sure he will indicate that he will give a speech at the Common border of Czechoslovakia, Iraq & Pakistan. This speech will be covered and heavily edited by CBS 's Curic and ABC's Gibson . The speech will have to be heavily edited because Curic, Gibson and McCain will be on a long plane flight to nowhere attempting to find this "Common border". They will not give up and will find this Mythical border . They all will use this alleged discovered common border as an opportunity to crow about McCain's National Security credentials.
Your #61 can be enlarged to where he gave a speech in New Orleans that was aptly rebutted by Keith Olberman on his alleged "support" of New Orleans after Katrina. He apparently forgot about the four or five Senate votes opposing any type of relief for New Orleans after Katrina, when he gave his speech in New Orleans.
This is great! Now let's see 100 positives for Obama!
lol. By the letter, being a bitch ain't one. But ultimately it is, since he is #2 on the list. And it is #1 on the list.
This is so well done. Thank you.
