The Aviation Cocktail, A 1950s-Era Thriller Movie, Aims To Highlight The Beauty Of Colorado's Plains (VIDEO)

WATCH: Trailer For 1950s-Era Colorado Thriller

Credit Mad Men for rekindling nostalgia for the 1950s and 60s if you must, but The Aviation Cocktail, a dramatic thriller that's cast, crewed, and filmed in Colorado and Nebraska during that era looks to be a different creature entirely.

According to the film's indiegogo page, the story centers around three WWII war vets dealing with rural life after the war. Director (and Colorado native) David R. Higgins promises to highlight "the fruited beauty of the often overlooked, but majestic Colorado Plains." And from the looks of the trailer, Higgins certainly seems to have an eye for capturing beautifully dramatic moments.

The Denver Egotist adds The Aviation Cocktail is the work of The Pilot's Lounge, an independent Denver production company far removed from Hollywood histrionics.

The film has a (nomination pending) Academy Award for the Best Movie Ever Made, at least according to their Facebook profile.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story stated the film was cast and crewed by Coloradans. Some crew and actors were also from Nebraska. The promotional trailer was shot around Denver, with additional filming in Nebraska.
