Netflix Wins Three Emmys, 'House Of Cards' Shut Out Of Major Categories

Netflix Wins Big, But Not As Big As It Should've?

Although Netflix made history by being the first non-TV network to win an award at the 2013 Emmys, it wasn't quite the game-changing sweep some were predicting.

While David Fincher won for Best Directing for "House of Cards," the Kevin Spacey drama was shut out of all the other major categories, with Spacey and Robin Wright losing out in the acting field and the show missing out on Best Drama (which went to "Breaking Bad"). The political drama did score two awards at the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony last week, taking home Casting and Cinematography, which likely pleased the streaming site. Netflix's revival of "Arrested Development" failed to win any gongs.

Fincher was not on hand to accept the landmark award for Netflix.
