Julián Gustavo Gómez is the Campus Engagement Manager at Define American, where he works on growing the Define American College Chapters program (defineamerican.com/chapters). The chapters are student-led initiatives using the power of stories to change the conversation on immigrants and identity in college communities around the country. Julián’s work is informed and inspired by his own immigrant story as an undocumented American and a DREAMer who was born in Argentina, but grew up in Miami, FL. Julián lives in Bethesda, MD and graduated from American University in 2015. Define American is a non-profit media and culture organization that humanizes the conversation about immigration and citizenship in a changing America. They aim to change culture by creating campaigns that impact how the media portrays immigration and how the public perceives the role of immigrants.
